Hi, I’m Jaima, a designer who has been blessed with a natural design talent. I have the ability to put beautiful patterns and colors together which is shown through my jewelry, bags and interior fabrics. I can forecast what the new and exciting trends are going to be and I believe “pattern is the next big trend in fashion and home.”
I don’t live in a sterile world of painted walls. My rooms are usually wallpapered and lots of patterns are mixed into the decor through drapes, upholstery, bedding and accessories. I also love to decorate ceilings! Yes….that’s right ceilings. These designers love it as well.

When rooms are wallpapered and print crazy, “People say they never want to leave,” says designer Jason Oliver Nixon. “The paper makes the walls disappear,” adds John Loecke. Both designers love pattern as much as I do. It’s so easy to pick a print and transcend a room into a theme of beauty.
I believe pattern personalizes your space. Patterns have a huge affect on a rooms decor. We need to pay attention to this detail as it says a lot about our style.
What makes living with pattern great?
- pattern brings out your individual style
- patterns create themes
- patterns make bold interior design statements
I know from experience, pattern can make a house into a home. When I wallpaper a ceiling I call it decorating the 5th wall. It totally pulls a room together and unifies the architectural details.

How does pattern affect an interior:
- Pattern can create a focal point in a room.
- Prints can make rooms look bigger or smaller
- Patterns put together tell a story
- Prints can create a specific decorating theme.
Why do we like certain patterns? Theory has it that our past draws us to certain prints. Past memories are the root to everyone’s design sense. Often one is not aware of how much our surroundings growing up influences us. We often incorporate pieces of our past into today’s lifestyle.

It all starts with fashion. No longer does anyone dress or style their home after their neighbors to be a copy cat. Today we demand to own style and pattern.
Add some pattern into your life. Try it…you might like it!
Cheers.
